Frequently Asked Questions.

Is there a maximum weight and height?

Yes, you must be weigh less than 250lbs (this is a limitation set by the equipment manufacturer), and the harness must be able to be fit appropriately to your body. Please be aware there is an additional fee for students weighing more that 200lbs. See our Prices section for more details. Our instructors have taken students over 6’8” tall, because the students had the flexibility to maneuver into the exit position. If you’re not sure, please contact us or come out for a visit, and we can go work with you.

What if the weather is not appropriate to skydive on the day of my jump?

Skydiving is a weather dependent sport, and if the weather is not appropriate at the time of your skydive plus 30 minutes, we will happily reschedule you to another date and/or time. For example, if you are scheduled to jump at 9am and the weather is unacceptable, we will wait for until 9:30 before rescheduling your skydive. We do this rather than push back to avoid lengthy delays which affect everyones schedule. Please keep in mind, if you would like to wait at the dropzone, we will do our best to fit you in as soon as possible.

If the weather is bad, can I have a refund?

As agreed upon in the terms and conditions of each reservation, these reservations are good for one year from the purchase date, and are fully transferable to anyone who meets the age and weight requirements, but we do not offer refunds.

What weather is not appropriate for skydiving?

The pilot and instructors decide if the weather is good to jump or not. They base this decision on two main factors, wind and clouds. There are legal minimum distances we must maintain from clouds, these are federal rules set by the FAA. The wind speed and direction are factors decided individually by instructors, each has their own limits. As a policy set by the dropzone, we do not skydive in winds stronger than 25mph, or in conditions with a gust differential of more than 10 mph, or if the upper winds (winds above 3000 feet) stronger than 30mph.

What should I wear to skydive?

We recommend sneakers, no boots, dress shoes or sandals. Comfortable clothing for the temperature, keeping in mind it’s about 20 degrees cooler at jump altitude. You will want to cover your legs at least to your knees, as sliding landings are common, and we recommend wearing items you don’t mind getting a little dirty.

How long does the whole process take?

We ask that you plan to spend up to 4 hours with us, but most students complete the process in less time. We ask for 4 hours because there are so many variables in skydiving, especially the weather. To the patient go the spoils!

Can my 16 year old go with my consent/what is the minimum age?

The USPA requires that any skydiver must be 18 years old at the time of their skydive. Our company policy also requires each individual participating to be at least 18 years old, this is due to the legality of their signature on our waiver.

Do I have to sign the waiver?

Yes.

Do you offer life insurance or any other coverage?

No.

Can I jump with a health condition?

You will need to consult your medical professional. You will be asked on our waiver if you are physically fit to skydive, any answer other than “yes” will result in a denial of service.

What if the parachute does not open?

All tandem systems are equipped with two separate parachutes, as well as an Automatic Activation Device (AAD). In the even that the main parachute does not properly open (a very rare occurrence) the instructor will deploy the reserve parachute, if they are unable to do so, the AAD will deploy the reserve parachute automatically. For more details please contact us, or ask your instructor.

What if I don’t see my question here?

Please send us an email or call us! Skydiving is an incredibly unique experience that inspires many questions, and we would love the opportunity to answer them all. Please be aware that weekends are the most busy, and we may not be able to pick up every call.
